Collins Hume looks forward to seeing you at 2011 Tourism Symposium ‘2020 Tourism Industry Potential’

Collins Hume is very pleased to support the 2011 Tourism Symposium – an event which is also a celebration of our Regional Tourism Industry.

With environmental, social and economic challenges dominating public debate and regionalism high on the political agenda, now more than ever is the time for regional industry to be sharing ideas and innovating for the future.

Northern Rivers Tourism will be convening their third annual Tourism Symposium. The event brings together the region’s tourism operators and businesses in related industry sectors to network, hear from expert speakers on macro issues affecting the industry and to develop professional skills in practical, informative and topical workshops.

Andrew McEvoy, Managing Director of Tourism Australia, will introduce 2020 Tourism Industry Potential, a new strategic approach to improve the industry’s performance and competitiveness, and set out scenarios of growth up to $140 billion by 2020 in overnight tourism expenditure.

Setting targets for the economic value of tourism to our region, new strategic directions around the Creative Tourism movement, and resilience against economic, social and environmental shocks are the themes explored in depth.

The diversity, energy and vibrancy of our region are reflected in this year’s Tourism Symposium which will showcase some of the best local businesses.  Our tourism industry is one of our region’s biggest assets and it is Collins Hume’s privilege to assist the industry to help it grow and prosper in what have been some challenging times.  The Tourism Symposium brings some of the most talented innovators and strategists, providing opportunities to explore, plan and network.

Northern Rivers Tourism convenes the third annual Tourism Symposium on 17-18 October 2011 at Southern Cross University in Lismore. Visit http://www.northernriverstourism.com.au/ to register or find out more.
