Meet two of our accountants getting results with business owners
When we began in 1980 our mission was simply to deliver the best value tax service possible. But the world has changed and so have we.

Jamie DoyleNow, more than ever, there has never been a more exciting time to be in business and our purpose is to assist and inspire business owners to achieve success in meaningful ways, both in business and in life. By providing expert business and financial advice, our team helps business owners achieve extraordinary results to strengthen communities, change lives and, ultimately, create a better world.

Jamie Doyle – Partner and Business Adviser
Jamie Doyle is Collins Hume's small business specialist working with established businesses and start-ups, streamlining their set up, structuring and software so they can realise their full potential.

"The Northern Rivers is an amazing place to live and work; the diverse range of people and businesses I interact with is really inspiring. I love visiting my clients to help them in their businesses and focus on continual improvement."

Jamie's goal is to provide his clients with the knowledge, solutions and tools they need to succeed. "You wouldn't go to anyone but a mechanic to service your car. It's the same for any business having an accountant – we provide peace of mind," he said.

Jamie is also a cloud specialist with a breadth of knowledge spanning Australia's major accounting software solutions. Using accounting data 'in the cloud', he assists business owners on a deeper level with Virtual Chief Financial Officer (VCFO) reporting and insight to enhance their business performance.

For a decade prior to joining Collins Hume, Jamie provided business accounting and management expertise throughout Australia, Ireland and the UK. In 2010 he joined us as a business adviser and became a Partner in 2016. He enjoys fishing and supporting South Sydney Rabbitohs.

Chris Horne – Chartered Accountant
Chris Horne"What I like doing is freeing up business owners to live life, work and also improve their business, especially small business owners who work long hours so need more time than most."

"As a team we have an actively involved approach which gives us more time to look at business performance, not just regulatory issues," Chris said.

Chris didn't need much persuading that a change of life was in order when he and his partner moved to the sunny Northern Rivers from Melbourne in 2015. He's an avid golfer and loves getting the grass underneath his feet. Over the past three years as part of our team, Chris has established his position in strategic and business planning, including tax efficient structures, asset protection, small business tax concessions and succession planning as well as superannuation and SMSFs.

Both Jamie and Chris can be found in our Byron Bay office each week, or they can come to you.
