Cancer Council's Stars – Ballina Shire business owners and local personalities – will light up the dance floor with local dance teachers to raise funds for Cancer Council in May.
For the very first time in 2020, local personalities will put their talent to the test to dance for cancer!
Cancer Council's Stars consist of business and local community leaders who will learn to dance in 8-10 weeks with the help of some fabulously talented dance teachers.
Known as the accountant with two left feet, Collins Hume Partner Christopher Atkinson (second from left), a husband, dad, golfer, adventure racer and mountain biker will possibly be facing his greatest fear!
"Now I have received my first donations it's got very real all of a sudden," says Partner Chris. "What a great cause – I'll give it my best shot!"
Quite surprised, but humbled, to be regarded as a community dancing star contender, Chris has taken up the challenge to step (or dance) outside his comfort zone, much to the delight of his team and friends, to compete in what can only be described as Ballina's 2020 premier fundraising event.
With 1 in 2 Australians diagnosed with cancer by the age of 85, the money raised from this event will go towards Cancer Council NSW and their world-class cancer research, prevention programs, advocacy and support services to help those affected by cancer at every point in their journey.
Supporting communities is an undertaking of Collins Hume, who have been long term advocates for improving the welfare and health of people both locally and globally.
Please support Team Chris by sponsoring him on his fundraising page and save the date on 23 May 2020 at Ballina RSL.
Join Collins Hume in celebrating our 40th birthday by getting ready for a night of fun, dancing, food, raffles and spectacular entertainment all in the name of working towards a cancer free future.
